Jessica's Friday Five: Heated Mattress, Cookies, and a Flight Tip

Hi Reader,

As it gets colder where I'm at, these days I've been popping up this video on my extra monitor for some cozy vibes while I work. In other cozy news, we also just received these amazing ready-to-bake Mrs. Fields cookie dough balls as part of a fundraiser for an amazing group of young baseball players who fundraising for a cultural exchange trip to Cuba. We've been popping a few into the oven every night and I'm here to tell you that having a cookie after dinner is the little joy you might need in your life. Order some cookies to help out the team and increase your joy. Trust me that you won't regret it.

Let's get to your Friday Five!

  1. Jessica's Tuesday Tips: I've been working on something behind the scenes for you and I'm so glad it's finally ready. Watch your inbox on Tuesdays and sometimes you'll get one little bite-sized tip to help you live with more joy and ease. If the tech gods smile upon us, the first one will arrive in your inbox this coming Tuesday. I hope you love reading these tips as much as I've loved writing them!
  2. Good Thanksgiving Table Questions: I thought these questions to elicit interesting conversation and gratitude were great - there are also some ways to gamify it a bit at a gathering if you're celebrating Thanksgiving next week. These came from The Assist, which is a newsletter I'm finding useful these days.
  3. Got a Flight Coming Up? My friend Carrie shared this brilliant tip with me and I wanted to pass it along to all of you. She said, "One of the things I've been doing lately before a flight is downloading a bunch of free samples of Kindle books (Jess note: you don't even have to have a Kindle device to read these - you can just use the Kindle app on your phone!). Then on the flight I'll read the first few chapters of a bunch of books. I always learn a few things, even just from reading the first few chapters, and then it's always super clear which books I'm dying to read more of and which ones I am fine to stop and not purchase the rest of the book."
  4. Wealthy Woman Bundle: I'm super pleased to announce that I've partnered with The Wealthy Woman Bundle to bring you an EPIC (and very time-sensitive) deal! From now until November 26th you can get my Plan Your Week Course and 60+ other online business, wealthy, side hustle & entrepreneurship courses all in one for just $85! Browse the entire collection HERE If you were to buy each program individually, it would cost you 8,426 USD so this makes it into a 99% discount! It’s only by joining forces that we are able to offer such a good deal, but it expires on November 26th.
  5. Chorebuster: This is a tool to generate a fair chore schedule for your whole family, quickly and easily (you could also us it for roommates, a shared office, etc.). You'll have a harmonious, clean and tidy home in no time! (Chorebuster is one of our Friday Five sponsors - thank you to them for keeping this newsletter free for readers!)

Bonus Friday Fave: The temperature at night has dropped for us, and this was the first week I turned on my beloved heated mattress pad. I love this thing SO MUCH. I've had it for 5 years now, and the best part is that it's two-sided, so one side of the bed can be heated and the other not heated at all (or one side slightly heated while the other side is super toasty). It's perfect if you share a bed with someone and have different temperature preferences. It's been one of the best purchased I've ever made.
